Standardization on Ageing societies and Ageing workforces

In November 2019 in Sydney (Australia), a total of around 40 experts and stakeholders from over 20 countries discussed the opportunities and challenges of the ageing society in two working groups. Among them were representatives from Australia, Canada, China, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Japan, Malaysia, Romania, Thailand and Vietnam.

The aim was to develop internationally agreed standards on this topic and to give recommendations for action for an inclusive society.

Prof. Hansjuergen Gebhardt from the project partner Institute ASER e.V. in Wuppertal, Germany, is also a member of the working group "Ageing Workforces", in which the effects on and challenges for the world of work were discussed and recommendations for actions were developed.

The results of the 4-day event were the first draft standards which  were presented to the standardization partners all over the world. The ASER-Institute is one of the representatives in this socially as well as ergonomically important field.
